I have visited the Little Big Horn battlefield before, but for a project I spent about a week out there at the battlefield where George Custer and the 7th Cavalry charged on Sitting Bull’s encampment of confederated Sioux warriors in 1876. I would wake up before dawn and catch the sunrise there, then stay all day walking the battlefield until the sun set (or the park closed) and I learned much about what transpired that day even though much of it is still shrouded in mystery.
